Yesterday, 31st July 2009, marked the start of the three-day long Festival Of Praise. Those who have been there will agree that it was amazing.
Guest performers True Worshippers performed pop praise and worship songs that got many of us jumping and dancing for God, and my personal favorite, Bob Fitts, dished out country-style worship songs and hymns that, well, made ME dance along too, like an old woman.
Reverend Mark Conner was the guest speaker for the night, and he delivered the message on the prison of worrying. Although most of us may not notice it, we will surely have some worries about our lives. As I have heard from a friend once,
"I'm worried when I don't have any worries. It makes me feel less human."As he had mentioned, only 4% of our worries are founded, grounded, and can be solved; so why not
do something about it, rather than worrying? When you shape your worries into prayers and trust that God will solve them, you move a step closer in your relationship with Him.
So like Bobby Mcferrin (Not Bob Marley) sings, Don't Worry Be Happy!
Festival Of Praise is going on tonight and tomorrow night. It is held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (SIS) and it will start promptly at 7.30pm. Contact your respective Connect Group Leader for more details!
